Intimate elopement Raglan: Best seasons for your dream elopement.
There isn't one right answer, because it depends on what you actually want your day to feel like. But there is a clear pattern to how the seasons play out here, and it's worth knowing before you pick a date.

Summer (December to February)
Long light, warm evenings, and the valley at its greenest. This is peak season for a reason. It's alsowhen Raglan is busiest with surfers and holidaymakers, so if a quiet, empty beach is part of your vision, you'll want to plan around the early morning or late afternoon light.
Autumn (March to May)
This is our quiet favourite. The heat has eased off, the light turns golden earlier in the day, and the crowds have gone home. Ceremonies in this window feel unhurried. If you want warm light without summer's midday harshness, autumn is hard to beat.
Winter (June to August)
Raglan winters are moody rather than miserable. Big skies, dramatic clouds, and a wild coastline that photographs beautifully if you don't mind a jacket in the shots. Couples who want atmosphere over sunshine tend to love this window, and you'll often have the whole Raglan beach to yourselves.
Spring (September to November)
Everything is waking up. New growth in the valley, clearer skies after the winter fronts pass, and the days stretching longer again. It's a good middle ground if you want green scenery without summer's heat or crowds.
So, what's actually best?
Honestly, it comes down to what matters most to you.
Warm light and long days, book summer.
Golden and quiet, book autumn.
Dramatic and moody, book winter.
Fresh and green, book spring.
Every season here has its own version of beautiful, and we'll help you plan around whichever one you choose.
